CSD Elementary Schools and Teachers Remain Among Top 25 in Georgia 2026 Niche Rankings

DECATUR, Ga. – Three City Schools of Decatur elementary schools, Oakhurst Elementary, Westchester Elementary, and Glennwood Elementary, were named among the top 25 K-5 public schools in the state, according to the school-ranking site Niche.com. All CSD elementary schools have a student-teacher ratio of 13:1 or lower and received an overall grade of A or better.

The rankings listed Oakhurst Elementary as fourteenth in the state, Westchester Elementary as twentieth, and Glennwood as number 22. Talley Street Upper Elementary came in at number 26, and Fifth Avenue Upper Elementary (F.Ave) is number 27. Additionally, Niche ranked Westchester sixth in the state for best public school elementary teachers, while F. Ave's teachers ranked 13th statewide. 

Teachers at Clairemont, Oakhurst and Winnona Park were also ranked among the top 50 in the state. These rankings are based on student and parent reviews and data from the U.S. Department of Education, including state test scores, student-teacher ratios, teacher quality, student diversity, elementary school ratings, and school district quality.
