City Schools of Decatur Celebrates Significant Growth in 2025 CCRPI Scores

All CSD Tested Grades Score 100 in "Closing Gaps"

City Schools of Decatur (CSD) is pleased to announce that its schools have significantly improved their 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores, compiled by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). The most significant growth was measured in the key performance areas of "content mastery," "closing gaps," and "readiness," reflecting CSD's dedication to academic excellence and student success.

"This year's CCRPI results show just how much the incredible work of CSD’s teachers and staff is impacting our students' college and career readiness," said CSD Superintendent Dr. Gyimah Whitaker. "Over the past two years, we have focused heavily on student achievement and closing gaps, and I am thrilled at what these results show about our students' ability to achieve lifelong success."

This year's CCRPI results show that all of CSD's tested grades 3-12 scored 100 in the Closing Gaps category, the highest possible score for students' progress in achieving performance targets. This achievement represents an improvement of almost 30 points over the last two years. In 2023, DHS scored 48.2% in the Closing Gaps category, which increased to 93.2% in 2024 before achieving a perfect 100 this year. Middle school improved its 2024 score by almost five points in 2025, and upper elementary schools maintained their score of 100 from the previous year. These results highlight the significant and intentional strides CSD has made in addressing achievement disparities.

Additionally, CSD's Content Mastery score has continued to increase over the past two years for all grades, demonstrating consistent progress across all grade levels and jumping by nearly five points at the high school level. Content Mastery measures whether students meet proficiency standards for advancing to the next grade level, college, or career. This category includes achievement in core subjects, assessed through the Georgia Milestones and the Georgia Alternate Assessment 2.0.

Readiness scores also improved across all CSD schools, increasing from 94.5 to 94.7 in elementary schools, 86.2 to 87.1 in middle school, and 94.4 to 95.4 in high school. These scores assess whether students are prepared for the next educational level through literacy, attendance, accelerated courses, and pathway completion.
