Opening and Mitigation

Clairemont is gearing up for a fantastic year! This year we will be fully reopened, 5 days/week for full academic days. Please take a moment to review the mitigation strategies that will be practiced to optimize safety for our staff and families.

CSD Schools Start/End times

First Day of School:

We will welcome students for our first day of school on August 3rd. Our school hours are 8:20-2:50. Students may be dropped off in the mornings at 8:00 am. Breakfast will be offered between 8-8:20 each morning.

School Supplies:

If you ordered school supplies through 1st Day, they will be delivered directly to the school and you don’t need to do anything to ensure their delivery! If you need to purchase school supplies, please find the requested list here. We never want any of our families to feel burdened by school supplies, so if this places an undue burden on your family, please do not feel the need to purchase. We will always ensure that all of our students have adequate supplies.

Class Assignment:

Parents will be able to log into Infinite Campus on July 27th to see who their child’s teacher will be. Class placement is a high priority for our staff and we are very intentional about this process each year. Class changes after this date will only be made under extreme circumstances.

Meet and Greet:

Teachers return to the building on July 27th and will be reaching out to you on the 27th and 28th to offer a virtual meet and greet opportunity. We have chosen to have a virtual meet and greet to ensure that all students and families have an opportunity to meet their teacher in a safe manner. We look forward to offering in person experiences for parents later in the school year, and we appreciate your support and flexibility for this event.

School Tours:

If you are new to Clairemont and would like to schedule a school tour, please use this link to sign up. We will offer tours of the building to small groups of families on July 19th and July 22nd.

Kindergarten:

During the first week of school, Kindergarten students that walk to school should enter through our front entrance.  Parents please give them a huge hug and your well-wishes right outside the door and we will escort them into the auditorium to meet their teachers.  From there teachers, from there students will walk with their teachers to their classrooms.  Kindergarten students arriving by car will enter the building through our cafeteria doors.  There they will be united with a staff member that will escort them to the auditorium to meet their teacher before being walked to class. If you would like to review information discussed in our Virtual Kindergarten 101 please click here.

Arrival and Dismissal:

A school wide weekly newsletter/eblast will be emailed to families each Thursday. This newsletter/eblast is sent to the email addresses in Infinite Campus. Please ensure all data in Infinite Campus is updated and correct.
