Parent Welcome Letter
It is hard to believe that it is almost May and the opening of Talley Street Upper Elementary School is just around the corner. I have been working hard preparing for our district’s newest school to open in August. The construction of Talley is coming along very well and I am excited for all of Talley Street’s stakeholders to see this amazing school!
In past years, rising 4th grade students around the district have visited F.AVE to tour the building and to hear about school life at the 4-5 Academy. In lieu of future students visiting Talley Street (due to obvious construction constraints), I will visit with students at Clairemont, Glennwood, Winnona Park and F.Ave during the month of May. I will present a kid-friendly slideshow of the building and answer any questions they may have.
Once construction is completed this summer, we want to invite you all to view this beautiful building and the surrounding grounds. Talley’s PTO is organizing a “meet and greet” to be held a week before school opens so that you and your children can familiarize yourself with the school. At this ‘meet and greet’, students and parents will be able to tour the building, relax to music performed by the new Talley Street band, and enjoy some snacks. We hope this festive occasion will get everyone excited for the opening of the new school.
Also, prior to the start of the school year, I will hold multiple parent sessions to provide you with information and answer any questions you may have. I will provide you dates and times as soon as they are determined. I will use multiple media sources to get the word out to our Talley Street Community.
The school’s mascot has been chosen! Fortunately, students, parents, and faculty all voted for the same mascot. I have been working with a graphic artist to design the school mascot and logo. These should be ready soon and will be revealed in a fun and exciting way to the community.
Talley Street Upper Elementary School is going to be amazing! I am so excited to be back in a school building with students! Over the course of the summer, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at email@example.com. I have also opened a Twitter account for Talley Street. My Twitter name is TalleyStreet_Principal. Log on to Twitter and follow me. I will be sharing information via the website during the next several months to keep you up-to-date on all that is happening at Talley. More information on afterschool care, clubs, and transportation updates will be shared soon.
I am extremely honored to have been chosen to open our new school! I look forward to Clairemont’s, Glennwood’s, Winnona Park’s, and F.AVE’s students coming together to create what will be an outstanding 3-5 school!
