Board of Education Meetings
The City Schools of Decatur Board of Education will hold its regular session Executive Sessions and Board meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. Georgia law permits the Board to meet in executive session to consider personnel issues, and legal matters. Only these sessions are closed to the public.
All regular Board meetings are open to the public. Special and emergency meetings are occasionally called to handle school matters that cannot be deferred to the monthly meeting. Notices of all meetings are posted in accordance with state law.
The Executive Session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the Board meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. Prior to each Board meeting, Board members receive information concerning the items that will be presented on the agenda. This allows the Board members time to consider items and, if appropriate, to consult with constituents prior to making their decisions.
Board members do not have the authority to act individually in the name of the Board. The Board may take action only at duly convened regular, special or emergency meetings.
Dates and times are subject to change. Please check the district calendar and Announcement section of the CSD homepage for meeting announcements.
Unless otherwise noted, meetings take place at the Wilson School Support Center, 125 Electric Avenue, Decatur, Georgia 30030.
