Remedial Education Program
The Remedial Education Program (REP) is a part of a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS). MTSS is a prevention framework that offers different levels of support to students. REP is a program designed to support students in grades 6–12 with identified challenges in reading, writing, or math. REP provides a structure for additional instruction and interventions to address specific skill gaps.
Qualifiers for REP include:
- Standardized assessment scores below the 25th percentile
- Georgia Milestones Level 1: Beginning Learner score
- Georgia Milestones Reading Level 2 with Below Level Status
- Failing grade in math or ELA
Program Delivery
Students who qualify for this program receive additional support from an REP teacher in addition to receiving core instruction from a general education teacher.
Exit Criteria
School-based MTSS teams regularly review data to determine when students should exit from the program.
