Social Work

City Schools of Decatur School Social Workers collaborate closely with school leaders, teachers, counselors, support staff, students, families, and community partners to promote student success and well-being. Through a collaborative, problem-solving approach, school social workers help identify and address barriers to learning, improve attendance and engagement, support students' social-emotional and behavioral needs, and connect families with essential resources. By working as integral members of school-based teams, they help create safe, supportive, and equitable learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
