Proactive Behavior Intervention and Supports

Proactive Behavioral Interventions and Supports are supports provided from an evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce disciplinary incidents, increase a school’s sense of safety and support improved academic outcomes.

The premise of proactive and positive support is that explicit teaching, combined with acknowledgment or feedback of positive student behavior will reduce unnecessary discipline and promote a climate of greater productivity, safety, and learning. Schools that apply a multi-tiered approach to prevention, using disciplinary data, and principles of behavior analysis to develop school-wide, targeted, and individualized interventions and supports to improve school climate for all students.

Each CSD school has local coaches who support their school-based team by guiding the implementation process, ensuring the fidelity of implementation, and acting as liaisons between the District Coordinator and the school-based team.
