Child Find Notification

State Rule: 160-4-7-.03 - Child Find
Do you know a child who may have a disability?

In accordance with IDEA regulations, CSD seeks to ensure that all disabled students (ages 3-21) who are in need of special education within its attendance zone are identified, located, and evaluated, including those attending private school and home school.

Final identification of students with disabilities and programming for such students occurs only after an appropriate evaluation and a determination by an eligibility team. Once it is determined a student is in need of and eligible for special education services, they may receive these services through the day before  they turn 22 years of age.

This is an overview of what the Child Find process may look like in CSD.

If you have questions about the Child Find process in CSD or know of a child who may have a disability, please contact Mr. Ben Knaebel, Coordinator for School Psychology and Section 504.
