Visitor Management
City Schools of Decatur will expand Centegix Visitor Management System (VMS) districtwide with the opening of FY26. Parents, guardians, vendors, and other guests will be required to scan their driver's license upon arrival, allowing the system to run an instant and automatic background check. Once cleared, visitors will receive a special visitor lanyard.
New Security Procedures for Visitors and Student Check-outs
Effective July 31, 2025, as part of the Centegix Safety System, CSD will implement a new visitor management process at all schools, including DHS. The new process will include equipment for checking in all visitors to the building using a state-issued ID or driver's license. This extra safety measure will conduct a background check of the sex offender registry, notifying front offices if there is an individual who does not need to be on campus.
- Please make sure you have proper identification when you enter the building.
- All visitors must enter and exit through the main school entrance.
- All visitors must show their valid state-issued ID/driver's license when checking in as a volunteer, classroom visitor or attendee for a school event.
- Once your ID has been scanned, you will receive a lanyard with a Centegix badge that must be worn at all times when the visitor is in the building.
- Before departing, the badge is returned, and the visitor will be checked out.
- Parents checking their child in or out but not remaining in the building will still use the Checkmate system in Infinite Campus. ID is required.
