The Finance Department of City Schools of Decatur is committed to supporting student achievement with sound fiscal responsibility, efficient support for school operations, and building strong community relationships through transparency and accountability.
The Finance Department manages the three major funds of the district: the general fund, capital projects, and special funds (which include state and federal grants). The department is responsible for a range of financial operations consisting of the annual budget, accounting, auditing, financial reporting to state and federal agencies, cash management (including any debt), payroll, purchasing, and accounts payable. Many of these functions are interdependent with schools and departments, making collaboration among principals, department heads, and administrators paramount for district success.
All financial presentations to the Board of Education are housed on the district website by accessing the Board of Education tab and Board Meetings Agenda (Simbli).
