2026-2027 Pre-K Registration

Pre-K Registration Process 2026-2027: Registration for “New Families” to College Heights is February 2-27. In order for the child to be eligible for the Pre-K program, the child must be four (4) years of age on September 1, 2026. Children who are five years of age as of September 1 must register for Kindergarten. Parents/Guardians must complete an online application prior to submitting supporting documents in person to College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center, located at 917 S. McDonough Street. If you need assistance completing the online enrollment form, parents may contact the Wilson Center at 404-371-3601. Online registration is closed after February 27.

Any family registering after February 27 must visit the school to complete the registration packet in person. Any family registering after February 27 will not be considered for the Pre-K lottery and will be placed on the waitlist according to the order of registration day and time. 

Step One: Parents/Guardians complete an online registration form. Parents/guardians will find the online registration form on the City Schools of Decatur “enrollment process” tab beginning February 2. Please retain your application number and have that available when you bring your documents to College Heights. 

Step Two: Parents/guardians should bring the following documents to College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center, Monday through Friday, during the month of February, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Documents must be submitted by February 27, no later than 3:00 p.m., to be considered for the Pre-K lottery. Please note that you will need to complete additional forms when submitting your documentation. Please allow 15-20 minutes for the on-site process.  

Required documents: Applications will not be accepted if all documents are not presented. 

  • Proof of Residency (lease, deed, payment/coupon book, property tax or settlement statement and a current utility bill). If providing a lease, the student’s name must be listed as an occupant.
  • Birth Certificate (certified original)
  • Immunization (Form 3231)
  • Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutrition (Form 3300)
  • Student’s Social Security Card
  • Picture ID of a legal guardian 

Timeline for Pre-K registration and lottery process
Online registration: February 2-27, 2026

Days to submit supporting documents: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. during the month of February. 
Lottery: An Electronic lottery will be conducted on March 4. Parents will be notified of their waitlist status via a phone call by March 6. Parents/Guardians of students who receive a Pre-K slot will receive a letter of confirmation via email by the end of March. 

City Schools of Decatur courtesy staff: Please contact College Heights to obtain a hard copy of the enrollment application. Staff shall complete the application and submit the required documents during the month of March. The courtesy staff lottery will be conducted on April 1, and parents will be notified via email of wait list status.

College Heights After School Program: The Pre-K program runs from 8:00 a.m. -2:30 p.m,. and the aftercare program runs from 2:30-6:00 p.m. Parents who are interested in registering their students for the College Heights after-school program should complete an interest form when submitting their student’s documents. For families who are awarded a Pre-K spot, the school will hold a separate lottery for available aftercare spots on March 27. All families awarded an after-school spot will be contacted by phone. Parents will have 72 hours to accept the spot, complete the application, and submit the $50 application fee.
