Degrees and Certifications:
This year marks my tenth year living in Georgia. Growing up in Maryland, I was never far from the water or mountains and it was from my experiences hiking, climbing, and paddling in the Chesapeake Bay that my love for the outdoors was born. After receiving my BS in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland in 1998, I taught in Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, specializing in environmental education and literacy. In 2007, my husband and I moved to Atlanta and I joined the Oakhurst staff in 2008. I completed my Masters of Education at Mercer in 2014. My family and I love exploring the outdoor opportunities and adventures around Georgia, and one day we may even get used to the Georgia summers!
