The College Heights birth-preschool (0-3) program is a Cognia Accredited early learning center. Cognia holds its accredited early learning schools accountable to high-quality educational standards and results supported by an engagement of continuous improvement. The 0-3 program uses the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) to promote quality learning experiences and to address the question, “What should children ages birth to age five know and be able to do?” The GELDS are a set of developmentally appropriate, attainable standards for young learners and are designed to be flexible enough to support children’s individual rates of development, approaches to learning, and cultural context. College Heights prides itself on having an experienced and well-educated staff with long-term teachers in place. Our 0-3 teachers have access to ongoing professional learning, training opportunities, and onsite instructional support. In the City Schools of Decatur, the foundation and love of learning begin at College Heights!
