Online Learning

  • Students may pursue course credit recovery or earn initial credit with CSD’s online learning options. See details about each option below. A visual aid for determining a student's approach to credit recovery is at the bottom of the page.

    Credit Recovery
Per our credit recovery policy, if a student fails a class, they may be eligible for a credit recovery program if they meet the following criteria:
    - Fail a core content course with a grade of 55 or above (English, math, social studies, science, health) AND
    - Have no more than 20 absences from the course during the year, or no more than 10 absences for half-year courses.

    Winter Online Learning
Students will be registered for the winter credit recovery course in January. Students will be expected to come in person from 9 a.m. to noon on February 17, 19, 20, and 21 to the Wilson Center at 125 Electric Avenue to complete the course.

    Summer Online Learning
Summer school will take place Monday-Friday, May 29-June 18, 2025, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Beacon Hill Middle School. The content for summer school is being delivered virtually, but credit recovery students are required to attend in person to receive assistance in the coursework and remain engaged.

Physical attendance for credit recovery students will end on Wednesday, June 18. The goal is for students to complete their courses by this date. If students need an extension, access to Georgia Virtual School (GAVS) courses may be granted through Tuesday, July 15, 2025, on a case-by-case basis. After July 15, incomplete courses will be dropped. Courses required for graduation will be scheduled for the next school year.

Please check Infinite Campus to see current grades and absences by period to determine eligibility for Summer school.
