Grade conversion is only used in grades 9-12 to translate the CSD 1-7 scale to the Georgia Department of Education.
-
Students must earn a 3 or higher to earn credit for a course, a 3 is considered a passing score.
-
Courses with a state End of Course (EOC) exam weight the the EOC grade as 20%, and that EOC score can lower the grade conversion
-
A student has 4 weeks to complete an incomplete course.
All courses in grades 6-12 will report final grades on their mastery of course standards (criteria may be assessed individually on a scale of 1-8, but final scores are reported 1-7).
All courses that do not follow the IB MYP Framework assess students on a 7-point scale throughout the school year to assess student mastery of the GSE+ or other
Grades 6 - 10
Separately, twice a year, teachers will report on the MYP criteria (Table 3) for each course (criteria can be assessed individually on a scale of 1-8, but final scores are reported 1-7). Final IB criteria scores will be determined by using the boundary table (Table 4).
An 8 on an assignment represents the indicator “exceeds” and will denote that a student is working beyond or above the grade level standards.
