Ms. Danielle Edwards
I am absolutely delighted to welcome you to my classroom as we embark on an exciting educational journey together! With immense pride and joy, I celebrate my 19th year of teaching, and I can't wait to make this year an unforgettable experience for each and every one of you.
Let me share a little about myself. I am a proud alumnus of The University of North Florida, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I began my teaching career by igniting the musical talents of 5th-grade students in the band and nurturing the young minds of 1st and 2nd graders in general education.
As an educator, I firmly believe that learning is a lifelong adventure, and to further enhance my skills, I had the privilege of working with the University of Florida Lastinger Center as a Clinical Education Facilitator for new teachers. Together, we cultivated a community of enthusiastic educators dedicated to shaping the future.
In pursuit of a new adventure, I followed my heart to the vibrant Atlanta area, where I became a part of the City Schools of Decatur. Here, I have had the honor of teaching bright young minds in 2nd and 3rd grade while also being a proud Google Certified Educator. Education and technology go hand in hand, and I strive to create a dynamic learning environment that embraces innovation and creativity.
But teaching is not just about what happens within the four walls of a classroom; it's also about giving back to the community that nurtures us. In Decatur, I actively volunteered as a Girls on the Run Coach, believing in the empowerment of young girls through physical activity and mentorship. Additionally, I served as a Teacher Advisory Committee Member and a district digital learning trainer, championing the use of technology to enhance education.
In my continuous pursuit of knowledge, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Piedmont College, ensuring I stay at the forefront of educational practices and methodologies.
Beyond the classroom, you'll find me engaging in various interests that fuel my passion for life. Sewing lets my creativity soar, dancing brings joy to my soul, and volunteering fulfills my heart. I am also an avid traveler and reader, embracing diverse cultures and experiences that enrich my teaching.
And let's not forget one of life's simplest pleasures—tacos! When I'm not in the classroom or exploring new interests, you might find me delightfully stuffing my face with these delicious treats!
Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of being your teacher. Let's make this academic year one of brilliance and wonder!
