Hello and welcome to 5th grade! My name is Vivian Alfonsin, and I am so excited to be teaching at Fifth Avenue Upper Elementary this year! It is an honor to be working in CSD and to be a part of the Decatur community. Although it is my first year at F.AVE, it will be my second year of teaching 5th grade. Prior to working in Decatur, I taught in Athens-Clarke County. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the Univeristy of Georgia... Go Dawgs! I currently reside in Midtown with my husband, Kyle, our two dogs, Rory and Alfie, and two rabbits, Oliver and Scarlett. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy cooking/baking, walking the dogs at Piedmont Park, gardening and playing board games with friends. During the summer, I love spending time outdoors, hanging out by the pool with a book, camping, and traveling.
