Greetings Oakhurst families! I’m elated to welcome you to the 2021-22 school year and serve as the Principal of Oakhurst for the 4th year! We are so excited to be back together again. Oakhurst has a tradition of excellence and I am so honored to have the opportunity to lead our crew for the third year. My classroom experience consists of teaching kindergarten, second, and fifth grades.  Prior to arriving at Oakhurst, I served one year as Principal at Whit Davis Elementary in Athens, GA. Additionally, I served as an Assistant Principal at the elementary and middle school levels for 5 years in Gwinnett County. I earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education at Alabama A&M University. I obtained an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University. Finally, I earned a leadership certificate at Georgia State University.  I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree at Georgia State University. GO PANTHERS!

CSD’s theme this year is #StrongerTogether and we will embrace it every step of the way. We are an EL Education school and we use the term “crew”, which means we do the work together.  We are looking forward to getting back to many of the EL practices that make our school unique. We will support one another as we journey through another school year! We'll continue to work together to provide the best educational experience possible for our students, while focusing on keeping everyone safe.  As your Principal, I will ensure learning continues to occur at high levels as we provide our students with engaging and relevant learning experiences. The Oakhurst staff will continue our focus on positive relationships with all stakeholders, supporting and challenging ourselves to focus on equity, and providing a quality education for all. With you as a vital partner, we will continue the tradition of excellence which spans over 100 years and we will be #STRONGERTOGETHER!

Looking forward to another fantastic school year! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or feedback.  My door is always open.
