My Name is Nick Brooks. I am the first in a set of triplets born in New Orleans, LA. At an early age we moved to Decatur, GA (East Atlanta).

I attended Valdosta State University and received my undergraduate degree in Music with Saxophone as principal instrument. I later received my masters of Education in Media Design and Technology(EMDT) from Full Sail University in Orlando, FL.

Music has always been a very important part of my life since i was young. In the 5th grade I decided I wanted to teach music. I am so glad to be here at FAVE. This is currently my 16th year teaching general music.

While I am not playing, umm, I mean teaching ;), I enjoy being outdoors. Last summer I backpacked in the backcountry in Grand Teton National Park. Aside from backpacking, I enjoy mountain biking, trail running, orienteering and adventure racing!! I also enjoy working out at my local CrossFit gym. 

I have been married to my lovely wife Amanda for 12 yrs. We have two boys, Preston (10 yrs) and Asher(7 yrs). They are a wonderful mess of sorts! We also have a beautiful purebred American Bulldog. His name is Monk, named after the jazz pianist Thelonious Monk.

When I’m not outside, i enjoy going to live music venues. My genre of choice is Jazz. Atlanta has so many places to enjoy jazz. There’s nothing like going to the High Museum of Art on Friday night, enjoying friends, and masterpieces and talented musicians making music!

I am overjoyed and excited to be apart of the FAVE family. I look fowrard to sharing and exposing our talented students to wonderful and exciting things in music!
