Referendum Process and Timeline

• May 2026: Board of Education Retreat (Overview, data analysis, and initial discussion).
• June 2026: Board approval of the concurrent CSD Resolution, which is legally required for the district to participate in the joint referendum.
• August 2026: Execution of a Joint Resolution between DeKalb County School District, Atlanta Public Schools, and the City Schools of Decatur.
• November 3, 2026: Voter Referendum. Registered voters within the jurisdiction will vote on whether to continue the 1% sales tax for an additional five years (following the expiration of the E-SPLOST VI cycle in June 2027).
