I am excited to begin my first year as an Oakhurst Owl! I grew up in metro-Atlanta and currently live in Decatur. I’ve worked in education for 15 years, and I previously taught for five years in Gwinnett County. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College, a Master’s degree from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. I also recently completed a Certificate in Dyslexia. I am passionate about fostering a love of learning in students, and I look forward to joining the Oakhurst crew as a first grade teacher. It’s going to be a wonderful year.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Maisie, and dog, Sydney. On any given weekend, you can find us playing outdoors, reading, swimming, cooking, or exploring fun activities in Decatur and Atlanta.
