• College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center (CHECLC) is a Cognia Accredited early learning center. Cognia holds its accredited early learning schools accountable to high-quality educational standards and results supported by an engagement of continuous improvement. In addition, CHECLC partners with Bright from the Start to provide 8 Georgia Pre-K lottery-funded classrooms. Georgia’s Pre-K program aims to provide high-quality educational services to eligible 4-year-old children in preparation for Kindergarten. College Heights Pre-K operates on the CSD school calendar for a typical 6.5-hour school day for 180 instructional days per year.

Children must be four years old by September 1 and must reside in City of Decatur to be eligible for the College Heights Pre-K program. College Heights registration is a two-part process. First, parents must complete and submit an online Pre-K application (www.csdecatur.net). Second, parents must submit additional hardcopy paperwork onsite at College Heights. Once completing the two-part process, children are eligible for the Pre-K lottery. The College Heights Pre-K lottery is held in March to determine children awarded Pre-K slots. Children not selected during the lottery will be placed on the waiting list.
