Summer Clayton began her educational career in 1996. She has worked in CSD for 14 of those years, starting as an elementary teacher at Clairemont Elementary, moving to instructional coach at Winnona Park Elementary, and most recently serving as an assistant principal at Beacon Hill Middle School. Outside of CSD, Summer has worked as a middle school teacher and has served as a founding principal/executive director of two charter schools, one in Idaho and one in North Carolina.
On the weekends, you can find her and her two teenage sons in the woods or by a lake, hiking, biking, camping, and fishing. S'Mores pro tip: A Reese's cup instead of a Hershey's bar is a game changer! She loves all sports but gets especially excited for each college football season (Go Dawgs!). She also loves live music, antiques, and fiddle-fartin' around.
