As Instructional Coach here at Glennwood, I wear many hats. In addition to student support, I facilitate professional development for our teachers and act as a "thought partner" for solving classroom challenges. I provide additional support and resources through co-teaching, co-planning and modeling lessons. Of all the hats I wear, my favorite is the work I've been privileged to support around the school-level equity initiatives in our district. This work is crucial to our students' future and their development as global citizens and ethical people.
This is my 18th year in education and my 15th year in Decatur. I have been a classroom teacher, EIP teacher and MTSS coordinator at several K-2 schools in the district. I graduated with an Elementary Education degree from the University of Georgia and received my Master's degree in Multicultural Education from the University of Washington.
While not a true Atlanta native, I have lived here most of my life. I love spaghetti and cats but not together. I have a 9-year-old daughter who currently attends Talley St. Upper Elementary School and a 47-year-old husband who attends Atlanta United soccer games far too frequently.
