Facilities and Maintenance Department

  • The Facilities and Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining and upkeep of buildings and grounds district-wide. We are committed to a high level of service and to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and staff.

    Additionally, the office oversees:

    • Construction - Additions, Renovations, ADA Modifications, and New Construction. 

    • Master Planning - Life Cycle Analysis, Space Utilization, Instructional Space Adequacy, and Capital Expenditure Planning

    • Custodial Services - Maintain a clean and inviting educational environment for students, staff, and visitors.

    • Energy Management - Monitor and track energy usage for all district facilities. Implement best practices and identify opportunities for energy-efficient improvements.

    • Sustainability - City Schools of Decatur intentionally seeks to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact by implementing effective and sustainable operations, reducing our reliance on non-renewable resources. We are seeking to reduce our environmental impact by minimizing the usage of chemicals and Implementing the use of carbon-neutral and recycled building materials.
