Hello, Oakhurst! This will be my 20th year as an elementary school counselor and my third year at Oakhurst. I grew up in Marietta, GA and am proud to call myself a native of the Atlanta metro area. I attended undergraduate at the University of Virginia and graduate school at The Ohio State University. I then attended Jacksonville State University for my Education Specialist degree and have been enjoying the school counseling profession ever since 2001.

I served as a school counselor in Paulding and Carroll Counties prior to coming to the City Schools of Decatur and am so glad I moved to Decatur "where it's greater." I enjoy listening to different genres of music, traveling, and the arts. I grew up studying ballet and danced with the Atlanta School of Ballet from preschool until I graduated high school as well as performed with the Atlanta Ballet prior to going to college.

My husband Shawn and I have 4 kids between us and we love our blended family of children ages BJ (21), Jackson (19), Donovan (17), and Carrington (13). My dream vacations swing between time in a mountain cabin and toes in the sand at the beach. If you're looking for us, you can always find us at the baseball field with our son or the softball field with our daughter. I can't wait to serve the students and community of Oakhurst again and celebrate our successes together for the 2023-2024 school year.
