Welcome to F.Ave!! My name is Mary Standridge and I am so happy you are reading a little bit about me. I am a Georgia native. I grew up in Peachtree City, Georgia and have spent every summer at Lake Hartwell with family and friends. Other than the classroom, anywhere with a body of water is my happy place! I love the outdoors and swimming is always a huge bonus. I graduated from Georgia College & State University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. The following year, I completed my first year teaching in Milledgeville while also completing my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. After that busy school year, I took the 2019-20 school year to travel. I was able to visit Japan, Spain, Ireland, France, and Alaska.  My passion is learning new things through new perspectives (especially when it involves trying new foods!) When the pandemic hit, I was able to provide a safe homeschooling experience for five first graders. It was quite a learning experience and journey for us all!  For the 2020-21 school year, I was hired as a first grade teacher at Oakhurst. After a year there, I found my home at Fifth Avenue Upper Elementary. Third grade is an incredible age, where learning is exciting and endless! I am going on my fourth year of teaching and ready for 30 more!
