Hi Crew! My name is Ms. Thorie and I am proud to be an Oakhurst Owl! I am originally from Minnesota, which means I love snowy and cold weather. I currently live in Decatur with my sweet and sassy cat, Molly.  In 2007, I moved to Georgia to teach and have been here ever since. The 23-24 school year will be my 17th year being an educator. I earned my Master’s degree from Walden University in 2010. My hope each year is that my classroom is one that feels safe, warm, and inviting and that anyone who enters feels loved and accepted. I love that my job is more than teaching children academics, but it is also about shaping them into people who can have a positive impact in our community and our world. Teaching kindergarten is the best and hardest job I’ve ever had and I absolutely love it! I hope you all have a terrific school year. Hootie Hoo!
