The quality services provided by The Decatur Student Center (DSC) would not be possible without the support of our community partners. Our partners support the center in a variety of ways, and we value our commercial and non-profit partners. For more information about partnering opportunities, please email Dianne Andree.
The Decatur Education Foundation
The Decatur Education Foundation (DEF) has been a supporter of The DSC from the beginning. They offer support through Joe's Fund for DSC programming, including individual and small group counseling, providing snacks for students, and supporting The Green Closet.
Georgia State University
Georgia State University's partnership with the DSC has been a strong and diverse partnership. The Community Mental Health program has placed Masters-level interns to complete their year-long internship at the DSC since 2018. Our GSU interns provide individual and small group counseling, as well as classroom lessons for students on a variety of topics and needs.
The Counseling and Psychological Services department has partnered with the DSC to provide Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) to personnel throughout CSD. This evidence-based program allows us to better identify students in need, provide intervention and lend hope.
Pathways Transition Program
Pathways Transition Program (PTP) provides school-based therapy for students. Administrators, school counselors, teachers, and parents can make a referral for services. PTP works with families to see if their program is a fit, establish a relationship with the family, and set up billing. PTP accepts a variety of insurances.
DeKalb CSB APEX Program
DeKalb Community Services Board (DCSB), funded by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), implements the Georgia APEX Program at various schools. The APEX program provides support to students and families and offers a comprehensive program for children and adolescents dealing with a variety of mental health challenges. An APEX therapist provides support to Talley Street Upper Elementary to assist students with improving function at home, school, and in the community through individual, group, and family services. DCSB also offers a Mobile Telehealth Clinic. To access these services, contact your local school counselor.
