Ms. Thaker is one of two Speech-Language Pathologists serving Talley Street Upper Elementary, splitting her time between Talley and Glennwood Elementary. The 2022-23 school year will be her sixth with the City Schools of Decatur. Previously, she worked for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Meredith White Speech Pathology, and Dekalb County Schools. She is a proud graduate of Georgia State University with dual master's degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Applied Anthropology. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is Orton-Gillingham trained. She loves literacy, AAC, and supporting students' ability to communicate and advocate for their own needs.
