Maggie DeFilippo, M.Ed., CCC-SLP
Ms. Maggie DeFilippo has worked as a Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) for the past 27 years in a variety of settings. After earning an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology from UGA in 1990 and a graduate degree from Georgia State University in 1992, she began her career at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, working primarily with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In 1996, she returned home to Atlanta and worked for the DeKalb County School system as a SLP and Assistive Technology Specialist and later in private practice when her children were young. After realizing she missed the ‘school life’, she joined City Schools of Decatur when Westchester Elementary reopened in 2014. She is thrilled to be serving the Talley Street students as one of 3 SLPs assigned to the school. She believes all students have a story to tell and works hard to help them find their voice.
