Transfer Request

  • *The transfer request form will be live until May 24, 2024.
    The form below must be completed by the parent or legal guardian of a current CSD student to request a transfer to another school within City Schools of Decatur. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Filling out this form does not guarantee that a transfer request will be granted. This form is intended to gather information to help determine if a transfer request will be granted.

    General information:
    --Transportation is the responsibility of parents/guardians.
    --Students must be registered in the school zone where they live before a transfer can be requested and considered.
    --Approval for one child to enroll out-of-zone does not apply to other children in the same family.
    --In order for transfer enrollment to continue, parents are expected to maintain a collegial relationship with school staff and to support school policies and procedures.
    --With the approval of the Superintendent or designee, a principal may request that out-of-zone attendance be terminated based on one or more of the following reasons:
          *Discipline issues
          *Excessive absences, tardies, or late pick-up of student
          *False information is given on the application form or other records
          *Other just cause

    If a parent requests a transfer to a school that does not have the services required by the current Individualized Education Plan (IEP), the district is not required to develop those services at the requested school as long as services are available within the school district. If services per the IEP are not available at the requested school, the transfer will not be approved.

    Transfer requests will be considered on or after May 24, 2024. At that time, we will determine if space is available at the requested school. If you have questions about your transfer request, you may contact Patrice Moore at
