The Decatur High School Band program is composed of three concert bands, a jazz band, several chamber ensembles, a percussion ensemble, and the Decatur High School Marching Band. The Band gives several concerts throughout the year, including a Fall Concert, a Winter Concert, and a Spring Concert. We also are externally evaluated at Large Group Performance Evaluation in March. Students in band frequently participate in District Honor Band, All-State Honor Band, UGA's Janfest Honor Bands, Solo and Ensemble, MAYWE, AYWS, and other performing organizations. The band also can be seen at all football games cheering on the Decatur Bulldogs.

The band is supported by the Decatur High School Band Parents Association, a non-profit parent volunteer organization. The mission of the DHSBPA is to support the Decatur High band program (musicians, drill team, and color guard), including financial support to supplement funds from the City Schools of Decatur (CSD) and parental involvement in band activities. The overall goal is to provide an enriching band experience for all students who participate in the band.
