Ms. Hilary Wagner

My name is Hilary Wagner and this is my sixth year of teaching Spanish in the City Schools of Decatur.  Throughout thirteen years of teaching, I have taught many levels of Spanish to a variety of age groups, ranging from Kindergartners to adult learners.  Due to an obsessive interest in academics, I hold a variety of degrees, including a B.F.A. with a concentration in Drawing and Painting and a B.A. in Spanish, both from Georgia State University.  I received my Master's from Middlebury College while taking advantage of their unique program, which allowed me to begin graduate studies at their campus in Vermont and complete my degree at their campus in Madrid, Spain.  After a year of living in Madrid and a completed Master's, I pursued and received a Trinity College TEFL certificate.  Upon returning to the United States, I completed my studies to receive a K-12 teaching certificate.  Later in my teaching career, I was fortunate to receive a Fulbright scholarship, which afforded me the opportunity to teach public high school for an academic year in Mexico.  In 2014, I completed an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction with a cohort of teachers from all levels of the City Schools of Decatur..  I love teaching at F.AVE and look forward to another rewarding year of teaching and learning!
