Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Keri Milam
I was born in Moultrie, Georgia - a very small town in South Georgia. I was raised there with my parents, and I am an only child. I went to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for two years to obtain my associate degree, and then left for the city! I went on to join the education program at Georgia State University, where I had the amazing opportunity to student teach at (and fall in love with) CSD! Prior to graduation, I spent a month teaching English to elementary, middle, and high school students in Chengdu, China. After graduating, I began teaching kindergarten at Chesney Elementary in Duluth, Georgia. After about one month, I was displaced to Brookwood Elementary, where I spent the next three years teaching 2nd grade. While teaching 2nd grade, I earned my certification to teach English abroad and also to teach yoga. This is my first year teaching 4th grade and I think it’s amazing that we get to learn together. I have always wanted to make my way back to Decatur, and I am so stoked to be here as your teacher!
