CSD is a Charter System!
City Schools of Decatur is one of the first charter systems in the nation! CSD Board of Education approved the petition December 11, 2007.
The State Board of Education approved our petition on June 12, 2008.

Annual Report
As per the Charter System Act, each charter system is required to submit an Annual Report. The 2008-2009 Annual Report was obtained through a Zoomerang survey distributed from the Department of Education Charter Division. Questions were demographic (e.g., how many meetings did each School Leadership Team have) and data (e.g., report on your quantiative goal regarding student achievement) in nature. The Annual Report is just over one page long and is included here.
System Charter Leadership Team
One of the governance features of the CSD Charter petition is the use of a System Charter Leadership Team (SCLT). 2 members from each school's SLT sit on this SCLT with Dr. Edwards as the chairperson.
