Valarie Wilson, Chair
Valarie Wilson has lived in Decatur for 14 years, and she and her husband Carter have a son, Nicholas, who attends Decatur High School. Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Clark College in Atlanta and did graduate study in public administration at Troy State University. She is the Executive Director of the Beltline Partnership.

Marc Wisniewski, Vice-Chair
Marc Wisniewski, vice-chair and first selected to the board in 2001, has lived in Decatur for fifteen years. He and his wife Stacy have two sons, Andy and Michael, who have both attended Westchester Elementary School, Renfroe
Middle School and Decatur High School. Currently Michael, DHS class of 2008, is a freshman at the University of Maryland, majoring in secondary education, foreign language and political science, and Andy, DHS class of 2006, is a junior at Georgia State University, majoring in Biology. Marc holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and earned a MBA cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. A Certified Public Accountant, Marc serves as IBM Business Consulting Services' Operations Strategy Practice Leader for the Communications Sector in the Americas.

John Ahmann
John Ahmann was elected to the District 1 board seat in 2004. An Atlanta native, Mr. Ahmann has lived in the Great Lakes neighborhood of Decatur with his wife, Becky, for over 10 years. They have two children, Jayne Anne who attends Renfroe Middle School and Lucy who attends Glennwood Academy. Mr. Ahmann has his own consulting firm, Ahmann (www.ahmann.com) that brings imaginative ideas to life by orchestrating public, private and civic involvement and investment.

Bernadette Seals
Bernadette Seals has lived in Decatur for over five years. She is currently serving her first term on the Board of Education, representing District 2. She and her husband Isaac IV have two children, Isaac V and Jeanelle, who have both attended Winnona Park Elementary, Renfroe Middle School and as of fall 2009, will both attend Decatur High School. Bernadette holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mercer
University in Macon. For over 20 years she has worked at the law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P., in Atlanta, where she serves as Senior Paralegal.

Julie Rhame
Ms. Rhame began her tenure on the Board of Education in January 2004, representing District 2. An Atlanta native, she and her husband, Rhett, have lived in the Oakhurst neighborhood since 1997. They have two daughters, Sydney, who attends Renfroe Middle School, and Skylar, who attends Glennwood Academy. Ms. Rhame holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and has worked in the public relations and the video production fields for almost 30 years. Formerly, she was Communications Director at Georgia Tech, President of Short & Sweet Studios, and
Public Relations Manager at Decatur Federal. Her current position is Senior Director of Communications and PDS-TV 24 for DeKalb County School System.
